Writers/Authors Criteria

  • we need course material for half day (3 hour) and full day (6 hour) real estate education courses
  • all material must be directed to education development
  • for example, if we requested a course on Condominium Selling we would need research into
    • changes in condominium laws that impacts buyers and sellers
    • what laws an agent should pay particular notice of
    • how to caution buyers and sellers
    • how to work with the documents needed in a condominium deal
    • what can go wrong before closing
    • what are reserve funds?
    • Listing condos, best tactics
    • Selling condos, best practices
    • etc.
  • all material must be in a step-by-step outline and with a lesson plan for each 10 minute period
  • yes, we need Power Point development for the material in addition
  • all courses must be submitted to the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO)
  • we pay a set price for the initial development of the course and the balance as royalties for a certain period until the entire fee is paid out
  • on average we pay $4,000 per course
  • the course becomes the property of the school
  • you can claim authorship for references
  • we have various courses that we would want authors for; topics vary
  • the material written must be of interest to the attendees. Today’s adult audiences have shorter attention spans and many are only taking courses because they have to. Our school is dedicated to bringing first class material combined with quality and entertaining teaching skills
  • this outline is basic. We would provide a more detailed outline to those selected to work with us
  • we have various courses now approved by RECO and the outlines can be revised to meet their requirements
  • if you are the author of your own material we would be pleased to discuss bringing your course to Ontario students
  • we also offer courses throughout the Maritimes
